Week 6: #NFL Game Predictions (w/ spreads & analysis)

Second year quarterback Carson Wentz has the Philadelphia Eagles flying high in 2017, but they face a tough test Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers.

2017 NFL SEASON

Week 6: #NFL Game Predictions (w/ spreads & analysis)
Week 5 results: 7-7 wins (season: 41-36; .532); 7-7 v. spread (season: 37-40; .481)

Philadelphia Eagles 4-1 (+3.5) @ Carolina Panthers 4-1 (45.5): Panthers 24-23
Thursday, 8:25 PM, Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC (Weather: 40% storms; mid-70s)

Reasons: This Thursday night the NFL offers one of the best games on paper we’ve seen in what feels like years as the Panthers host the Eagles. There are only six teams in the NFL with one or fewer losses so far this season and this game features two of those teams. The Eagles have accomplished this with a high-flying offense that is 3rd in total yards and 6th in scoring (27.4 ppg), not to mention top-10 in time of possession (1st), 3rd-down efficiency (1st), yards per play (8th) and turnovers (10th). The Panthers have succeeded with their great defense, which comes as no surprise, ranking 2nd in yards allowed and 9th in scoring defense (18.8 ppg). Carolina’s offense, led by the enigmatic Cam Newton (1237 passing yards; 8 TDs), has helped their defense all year by holding the ball (2nd time of possession), and only seems to be getting better. Carson Wentz (1362 passing yards; 10 TDs) has a tough task on the road this week.

Week 6 byes: Buffalo Bills; Cincinnati Bengals; Dallas Cowboys; Seattle Seahawks

Stay tuned for the remaining Week 6: #NFL Game Predictions (w/ spreads & analysis) coming Sunday morning!
